Music Videos

I don't watch country music videos very often, but when I do I wonder why some of the artists use letter box format? Don't they like their videos? After all most of us don't have 42 inch plasma screen TVs. So why cut off 10, or perhaps more of the picture? Maybe someone out there has an answer.

I can't wait for the primary elections to be over. I'm so sick of the commercials. I wouldn't mind if they had something important to say. Or gave us new information that would help me figure out who I should vote for. Why don't they talk about real issues. Yes the war in Iraq is real, but what about GMO's (genetically modified organism's)? They are unneeded, pose a threat to humans and the environment; yet the lobbyist have successfully blocked any efforts to label food containing GMO's. This is at a time when more then 70% of processed food on the store shelves contain GMO's. So the question is why don't any of the candidates take up this issue?

Energy is another important issue, but once again the candidates are missing the point. Less then two miles from where I sit is a railroad right of way. It has limited use and five miles north of here the rails have been removed. Why isn't every effort being made to rebuild this important resource. Parallel to this railroad line is a narrow state highway that twice each day is clogged with cars. Most of these vehicles are carrying one person. So why aren't the candidates talking about how we can use what we have to provide a bridge to the future? Money? Yeah, new high tec ideas have more impact with people that fairly simple recycling of existing technology.

Christmas

Well the presents have been open, dinner finished, and now it is time to say goodbye to the guests.

What will the New Year bring? More snow for sure; I managed to go for a short snowshoe hike yesterday. It's the first time we've had enough snow in a long time. Hopefully the war will be over before my daughter has to go again.
